Nathan
Tabor: Prayerful, Principled and Personable As the North Carolian Editor for GOPUSA and a resident of the 5th U.S. Congressional District, I am proud to announce my support of Nathan Tabor to succeed Richard Burr in representing North Carolina in Congress. Nathan is a person who can be easily described as prayerful, principled and personable. Many of you have heard and met Nathan as he has traveled around the 5th District. When he asks for your prayers, Nathan is honest and sincere. Convictions in life that are founded on prayerful thought and insight are an absolute to face the responsibility of leadership in Congress; Nathan practices his faith with forceful convictions and an easy naturalness. With the assault on our belief in God prevailing around us on a daily basis, it is imperative that we continue to be served in the 5th District by a man who understands the power that lies in prayer, not in oneself. Such a foundation in prayer has enforced the principles by which Nathan conducts his campaign. He is honest and forthright. There is no question of where he stands on the issues that are important to those of us who live in the 5th District. Nathan believes in the importance of family and is pro-life. He understands the need to protect the Bill of Rights - the 2nd Amendment among those. As a resident and business owner in our district, Nathan knows that the state is facing a change in economic dependencies and our competition is international; we must make changes now to prepare us for the world in which we work and live. We must provide alternatives to the current Social Security structure for tomorrow's generations, while ensuring that today's retirees receive appropriate benefits. Nathan doesn't hide where he stands on these issues and, perhaps most importantly, possesses a very clear standing of these issues. He has even put this in writing on his website, exercising greater detail than many of his opponents in defining his position. I never knew who Nathan Tabor was until he decided to run for Congress. Over the past few weeks I have listened to Nathan talk about his vision for the 5th District and I have quickly noted how personable and approachable he is. I find it important that I have a Congressman with whom I can discuss the issues critical to me and know will honestly listen to me. I also want a Congressman who, if he doesn't agree with me, can articulate his position without simply thanking me for my opinion and moving on without taking a stand, afraid that he will lose my vote in the next election. Nathan has exhibited these qualities. He doesn't hide from or avoid voters, issues and controversy; but approaches his campaign with a refreshing honesty. Nathan seeks the endorsement of the voters - not of major organizations, out of state congressional leaders and retired politicians. Nathan is concerned with what concerns the 5th District. Finally, there are those who refer to Nathan as young and inexperienced. I can't help but think of one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, Edward Rutledge, who was only 29 years old when he, along with many of the other signers, was a young man who sought to change the world. Today, every man or woman who runs for Congress is still like those men. When someone forty or younger becomes involved in politics, people like to pat them on the back and comment ''this is next generation of leadership.'' But these are today's leaders - leaders such as our current Congressman. Nathan is like Burr not just in philosophy, but also possesses similiar business and political experiences as the current Fifth District Congressman. It is with pride that I endorse someone who so closely parallels Congressman Burr. I strongly urge you to join me in supporting Nathan Tabor for U.S. Congress.
