March 9, 2004 Dear Friends, I’m always telling Christians when entering the polls they should vote from a Christian worldview. All too often, however, the candidates and their positions are far removed from the Christian teaching. It can be very disappointing for God’s people when their options are so limited. The Scripture says, “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn” (Prov. 29.2). What a breath of fresh air, when there’s the opportunity to cast one’s vote in favor of a candidate with strong moral convictions – someone who doesn’t waffle on the fundamental values that made our nation great. Every nation is founded upon some theistic or anti-theistic premise. Traditionally, Judeo-Christian ethics have been the point of reference for morality in America. But elitist forces are trying to oust Christian values from public policy and remove its influence from the public square. I’m confident Nathan Tabor can help change this trend and restore our nation’s religious moorings. I want to give my unqualified personal endorsement of Nathan Tabor for the new Fifth District Congressional Seat. I have talked with Nathan on a number of occasions and I know of no other candidate who has a better mastery of the issues. He represents all that Christian people hold dear to their hearts. Plus, he’s smart! Nathan’s intellectual integrity blended with moral conviction is reminiscent of the heroines America had in her founding fathers. The first U.S. Supreme Court Justice, John Jay once wrote: “Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty, as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers.” Others in running for the Fifth U.S. Congressional seat may also claim to be Christian. But none is as unadulterated in their Christian approach to social issues and public policy matters as Nathan Tabor. I urge everyone to cast his or her vote for him. God
Bless, This is a personal endorsement. Rev. Creech is the Executive Director of the Christian Action League. For more information about Nathan Tabor and his campaign, those interested are encouraged to call (336) 993-0929 or visit www.taborforcongress.com. |
