Tabor
Says Americans Must Resolve to Prevent Iraq from Rejoining OPEC
Tabor called for an end to nonsensical environmental arguments that are without fact and hamper the United Statesí ability to act in its own interests with regard to fuel and energy. ìWe must turn back this tide of dependency on foreign oil. We cannot let our national defense, our public comfort and our ability to compete in business worldwide be jeopardized by the environ-left. We must move forward with drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Reserve (ANWR). With gas and home heating prices at a high, Congress must act now. I will push for such measures when elected,î said Tabor. OPEC is a major threat to the nationís ability to compete in the world market place according to Tabor. ìIt costs our transportation companies, our shippers, our manufacturers and anyone involved in the transportation of goods a great deal more because of our lack of understanding of how to deal with OPEC. Ultimately, we can save the consumer their hard-earned dollars if we act now and we act right. American taxpayers just spent billions liberating and rebuilding Iraqís infrastructure, including oil pipelines. We must not allow Iraq to join OPEC,î said Tabor. ìWith the new Iraq as an independent oil producing state, we can help their people and ours by both being able to enjoy dynamic economies. Here is a chance to refute the monopoly of OPEC and to teach independence to Iraq. Capitalism is the best way to spread democracy.î North Carolina transportation companies are depending on Congress to chart a new course. Ultimately, Tabor contends, ìthe health of our local economies depend on informed actions by our representatives. I will help chart a new course for America with regards to our energy policy.î ìIt is also a shame when hard working families are punished by high gas prices. We have to act now and lower gas prices and taxes. We must also start thinking outside the box for alternative sources of energy,î said Tabor.
